The fox belongs to the Canidae family and is related to our dogs.

A fox is about the size of a medium-sized dog, but with an elongated skull and an almost straight upper profile, a very pointed snout, and large, triangular ears. Its tail is long and densely furred, generally with a white tip. Its coat is soft and thick, with a yellowish-reddish to brownish-reddish coloration on the upper parts and white on the underside, and it molts once a year (from spring to autumn). The front part of the legs and the feet are black. Its weight ranges from 3 kg to 12 kg.

In the wild it lives between 5 and 7 years, while in captivity it can reach 12 years or more.
